Kristen Noel Kristy Swanson gained world-wide recognition as Buffy Summers. In the cult classic Buffy the Vampire Slayer, she portrayed Rebecca Becky Granger. As a California native, Swanson was interested in acting as a young girl. Her acting career began through a variety of commercials. She made her screen debut in an episode on NBCs sitcom It's Your Move in 1984. A year later she appeared in the romance comedy Pretty in Pink of 1986 She made her major-screen debut. Swan gained notoriety for her blonde lisp and her breathless voice. Recently, she's shifted from main roles to smaller roles. In 1989 she won the Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress in a Horror or Mystery Motion Picture for Flowers in the Attic.
