Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Her career began with Broadway career in musicals, including Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. Her performance on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel won her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford has spent her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors across theatre and on television. she continues that award-winning work with several upcoming projects. Ashford will be next starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It debuts on the 22nd November. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. In the form of a Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney DTC's platforms. Ashford will return in 2023 and will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the return of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The team behind Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the leading the production. Ashford was last seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the country's First Impeachment Proceedings over an Century. Ashford appeared for two seasons in the CBS hit comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character of Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
