Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born on August 9, 1976, in Beaumont Puy of Domme. Her parents as a dentist as well as a teacher, understood and encouraged their daughter's love for acting and drama on an early stage. This support was enough to thwart her initial desire to become primatologist. Her fame grew as a child actor quickly and enjoyed great popularity and success. In 1998 after her studies, she was a participant in the French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors before beginning acting professionally. While she attended in the Institut Catholique de Paris and went to church as a child, Tautou has stayed away from her religious upbringing and has stated that she is not officially Catholic. She pursued a career in modeling in addition to her acting work and is the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel is often called the Chanel Muse. Additionally, she is a keen passion for photography. She recently exhibited her work for the Arles Festival with the name Superficial. Her photography is focused on celebrity, fame and the media who scrutinized her following her fame-making debut as Amelie. Also, she has a number of photographs featuring her self. Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her debut role as Amelie Poulain in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie was a box-office international success, and received accolades at awards galas around all over the world. It remains the highest grossing French language film to date in the US. The success of this movie has led to Tautou being cast in a range of roles, including British dramas like Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
